Haitian Identity Beyond the Flag
There is a whole category of Haiti-branded clothing that shouts. Flags across the chest, the map, the word in block letters. We understand it. Pride that was denied for a long time tends to arrive loudly.
We wanted to try something else. A crest instead of a flag. A year instead of a slogan. Colours taken from the light rather than from a logo.
The test we use is simple: could you wear this to dinner with people who know nothing about Haiti, and still be saying it? If the answer is yes, the design is finished.
